Davis was asleep in his swing when we got there. IV went to check it out and TRIED TO PLANT A BIG OL' SMACKER ON DAVIS! He tried to kiss him! With a big ol' cheerio filled slobbery mouth. We settled for kissing Davis' on the leg and arm, NOT on the face as IV wanted to but I was seriously impressed with how sweet he was to the baby.
And then he threw a leg up into the swing trying to get into it with the baby.
Sigh.
IV also tried to give Davis a cheerio - he is seriously good at sharing, which impresses me like crazy.
Watching the flurry of activity around a 6 week old and a 1 1/2 year old was pretty amazing - I can't imagine my sweet girls that are managing this same situation right now day in and day out.
Watching the kiddos made me wistful for more. I will be ready for more some day. They are such amazing little blessings, full of love, dependence, faith.
I sat down in the hallway talking to Linds and Erin while Erin did her hair and IV came up and plopped in my lap with his milk while we chatted away.
"Mama" he said and looked up at me.
"I can't wait for that" Lindsay said.
And boy, how I don't ever want it to go away. Pretty soon IV, you're going to be in school and playing sports and calling girls and driving and then going away to college...
Right now? I just want you to stay in my lap forever.
